As a contract designer with the Blockchain Research Institute, I was brought on to develop the organization’s logo and foundational brand system. Following the initial branding work, I continued to support the team with a range of design projects including whitepaper templates, event collateral, social graphics, and presentation materials. My work helped establish a consistent visual identity that aligned with the BRI’s focus on research, thought leadership, and the evolving blockchain ecosystem.

The BRI logo was developed as an evolution of a visual concept from a book cover authored by Don Tapscott, the institute’s founder. The brief was to take that original image and transform it into a more interconnected and scalable symbol—one that reflected the institute’s focus on research, collaboration, and the foundational building blocks of the blockchain industry. The final mark combined structure and simplicity, making it adaptable across formats while staying conceptually rooted. This identity was then applied to print materials, marketing and presentations  to help establish a consistent and professional brand presence.

I designed a system of scalable templates for the Blockchain Research Institute’s whitepapers and print materials, with a focus on clarity, flexibility, and brand consistency. Built in InDesign, these templates were created to be easily reused and adapted by other designers as the organization’s library of reports grew. I used Illustrator to design custom covers and infographics that aligned with the brand’s clean, minimal aesthetic. The result was a set of materials that made complex research visually compelling while keeping the focus on the content.

Additionally, I was enlisted to create a concept for a Canadian contingent of companies for a Conference in the United States. My task was to make a highly Canadian look and feel to the space in it's own pavilion at the event. A gathering space for all the Canadian companies to attend and have a space to network and connect at an otherwise United States dominated conference. Through the BRI's stewardship, I developed the Canadian Pavilion sub-brand for the conference.

This sub-brand was easily recognizable as Canadian-centric and played off the connection between the BRI's bright red brand color that fed perfectly into the Canadian flag colors. The logo for the brand play on the Canadian maple leaf, the connectivity of the blockchain environments as well as the networking nature of the event.
